The 50th day after Easter Sunday we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, the decent of the Holy Spirit upon
the Apostles and their followers which began their earthly ministry to make disciples of all nations. It is also the date I celebrate and give thanks to God for my frightening yet intensely loving encounter with the Holy Spirit that brought me back to the fullness of the Catholic Church.
Below, I would like to share this beautiful prayer to the Holy Spirit. I urge you to pray this prayer as we approach the celebration of this incredible moment in the Church. A promise of Jesus to send our Advocate, comforter, counselor, helper.
After the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles, they were set ablaze and could not contain their zeal for God and His Church and set out to spread the good news to the world. Many went to their death proclaiming love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
This Pentecost may we be open and allow the Holy Spirit to renew and inflame our love for God so that we can go out and set the world ablaze with the love of Jesus Christ.

Holy Spirit Prayer
O Holy Spirit, O my God, I adore Thee, and acknowledge, here in Thy divine presence, that I am nothing and can do nothing without Thee. Come, great Paraclete, Thou father of the poor, Thou comforter the best, fulfil the promise of our blessed Savior, Who would not leave us orphans, and come into the mind and the heart of Thy poor, unworthy creature, as Thou didst descend on the sacred day of Pentecost on the holy Mother of Jesus and on His first disciples. Grant that I may participate in those gifts which Thou didst communicate to them so wonderfully, and with so much mercy and generosity. Take from my heart whatever is not pleasing to Thee, and make of it a worthy dwelling-place for Thyself. Illumine my mind, that I may see and understand the things that are for my eternal good.
