Attending this past Sunday Anticipated Mass, I noticed a mother with her daughter, about 5 years of age, sitting a few pews ahead of me. I went to confession the other day and was given penance of saying the prayer for priestly vocations. I was inspired to share and I’m Including it below.
A few months ago I began developing chest pain. Nothing serious but noticeable. Over the next few days, this pain intensified so I gave it a bit more attention. There is history of heart issues in my family so I thought that might be a possibility. I practice martial arts on a regular basis so I thought maybe I just pulled a muscle. I didn’t panic but kept an open mind as to what might be going on. But “what could it be” was a persistent thought in the back of my mind?
While reading a few articles reaction to “Amoris Laetita,” “The Joy Of Love” by Pope Francis, I was struck by one mention, “individual conscience educated in church teaching must guide their decisions.” Which took me to my life before my reversion back to the church.
My individual conscience was definitely not rooted in church teaching but squarely in the world. My moral compass was out of whack. Continue reading What Is Truth?
